Girolamo Casanate, Lugt 4559
Copy in the same direction after Cornelis Cort's print after the design of Federico Zuccaro. The attribution to Mathieu Greuter is based on the print index of the Biblioteca Casanatense. The dating used here is based on the known active period of Adamo Scultori and the print by Cort which is dated 1576 in the plate. Probably the print was published in Rome, as Scultori was active there after circa 1566. The copperplate for this print is in the Fondo De Rossi at the Calcografia Nazionale in Rome (inv.no. 1110).
